RESPONSIBILITIES
- Faculty recruitment and faculty administration
- Lead and coordinate annual SCIS faculty research mapping exercise.
- Organise and manage the SCIS faculty research workshops.
- Manage faculty recruitment process, from advertising at appropriate job boards to new faculty start work.
- Lead new faculty orientation and manage faculty orientation materials.
- Manage faculty recruitment reporting.
- Plan, coordinate and support Dean in the bi-annual faculty meetings.
- Support SCIS faculty-led conferences and workshops as required.
- Faculty reviews
- Advise and guide faculty on CV updating for annual reviews.
- Manage the review submission process to ensure all required documents submitted by faculty are accurate, complete and uploaded in time for reviews with Dean.
- Manage faculty course evaluations according to the reviews' requirements.
- Faculty travel and claims
- Lead and advise faculty on SAP Concur travel requests and claims submission.
- Plan, manage and review faculty conference travel budget.
- Ensure travel claims are in compliance with SMU and SCIS travel policies.
- Guide and advise colleagues on managing travel requests and claims.
- Visiting faculty/visitors
- Supervise colleague managing the visiting faculty/visitor function to ensure compliance with SMU and SCIS travel policies and guidelines.
- Plan, manage and review visitor budget.
- Manage visiting faculty/visitors reporting.
- Other administrative support
- Oversee and manage the room planning and allocation for faculty and visitors.
- Regular reporting and plan projection of space requirements.
- Work closely with SMU and SCIS colleagues on SCIS2 office maintenance matters.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Degree with at least 5 years of work experience of work experience, preferably in the education industry.
- Analytical and meticulous with an eye for details.
- A strong team player who is also resourceful and is able to work independently.
- Able to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (good verbal and written communication skills).
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
