Introduction:
NTU Student Affairs Office (SAO) seeks to achieve its mission of collaborating and co-creating a meaningful and enriching student life experience with its partners via promoting students' personal growth through co-curricular learning arising from student-led activities, leadership development initiatives, residential hall programmes, inclusion and integration efforts, community engagement initiatives and sports.
The Manager holds a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive support to international students, with a focus on ASEAN scholars, Science & Technology undergraduate scholars, and bridging students. This includes leading a team to oversee their social integration and pastoral care, facilitating their assimilation into the local environment, and nurturing a strong sense of community belonging. The Manager serves as the primary liaison on scholarship-related matters and is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate statutory reporting for international students.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Promote the integration and professional growth of International Scholars

- Conceptualize and implement impactful programs and activities (e.g., briefings, cultural events, focus group discussions, developmental workshops, and social events) to facilitate the successful integration of international scholars into the local community.
- Review and refine the Community Involvement Programme (CIP) framework for international scholars. Partner with student organizations to create meaningful volunteering opportunities that foster social responsibility and enable scholars to give back to society.
- Support the holistic development of the International Scholars by organizing talks and workshops focused on Social Emotional Learning (SEL), career planning, leadership development, life readiness, and other relevant areas.
2) Student support and case management
- Complement the support provided by Student Care Managers and University Wellbeing Office to identify the needs of international scholars and provide appropriate support for effective incident management.
- Oversee the mentorship program and guide the Care & Guidance to ensure the day-to-day well-being of the S&T bridging students.
- Provide guidance and advice to graduating/graduated scholars on bond deferment options, empowering them to make informed decisions.
- Drive the development of a predictive dashboard for early identification of scholars facing academic challenges, enabling proactive interventions and timely support.
3) Communication and Reporting
- Serve as key liaison between scholars, their families, NTU and relevant stakeholders to provide timely and effective communication regarding scholars’ wellbeing, achievements, and areas of concern.
- Serve as the primary person-in-charge for all statutory and management reporting for International Students, including scholars.
4) Integration of International Students
- Lead the Scholars Engagement team to collaborate with SAO units and other internal stakeholders to promote cultural integration and to build a vibrant international community in NTU.
Requirements
- A good bachelor’s degree in any related field from a recognized University.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience with considerable interaction with students or youth, with minimum 4 years in a supervisory position; experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.
- Strong drive to initiate, plan and implement integration initiatives on time and on target.
- Sensitive to and empathetic towards the transition and integration challenges faced by international students.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) and proven track record in stakeholder management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with university students and colleagues from diverse cultures and disciplines.
- Passionate in nurturing young people and challenging them to achieve their desired career goals.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office application software.
