The Manager, Submarine Cable is a management role, responsible for developing the operational workflow and managing the operation and maintenance support of the submarine cables and delivery of network capacity for customers.
This role manages service governance, service catalogue management, service design engineering and service platform design as part of their remit whilst fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee cable installation processes, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Responsible to front the local authority in cable ship repair operation and perform reporting to local authority according to local code
- The 1st Point of Contact during cable Repair, Authorise the dispatch for emergency cable repair including land repair and/or Cable Ship Operator for subsea cable repair
- Perform testing and diagnostics on submarine cables to identify and resolve faults.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, marine surveyors, and technicians.
- Manage submarine cable projects, including planning, execution, and coordination with stakeholders in the ASEAN region.
- Conduct regular maintenance and ensure the longevity and reliability of installed submarine cables.
- Provide technical support during cable repair operations, including fault localization and restoration.
- Responsible in construction of SLTE system and setting up operation framework to meet customer’s service quality expectation. Manage stable 24x7 duty operation, vendor management and incident management to value-add on to customer’s service
- Overall responsibility for delivery of quality service standard to customers, as a point of contact for all post sales activities. Leads, manage, coordinates with internal external resources and group companies in any incident, taking effective resolutions and keep customer updated to maintain good relationship
- Monitor and analyze data from cable systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation related to submarine cable projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven 5 years of experience in submarine cable installation, operation, or maintenance.
- Knowledge of fiber-optic technology and cable testing equipment.
- Familiarity with marine survey practices and cable routing procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in offshore if necessary and challenging environments.
- Preffered to be able to speak Japanese to communicate with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications related to telecommunications engineering or marine systems.
- Experience with project management in submarine cable projects.
- Knowledge of environmental and regulatory considerations in submarine cable installations.
