About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pastry Intern to join our central kitchen team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in pastry production, learn directly from skilled pastry chefs, and be part of the daily operations that bring our pastries to life.
Responsibilities
- Assist pastry chefs with daily production, including:
Weighing and preparing ingredients
Cookie cutting and dough portioning
Splitting and handling dough for baking - Support in the morning assembly and decoration of éclairs, ensuring quality and consistency in presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation throughout the day
- Participate in end-of-day kitchen cleaning and equipment maintenance to ensure hygiene and safety standards are upheld
Requirements
- Passion for baking and pastry arts
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with early morning start times (6:30am / 7:00am)
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Basic knowledge of baking or prior experience in a kitchen setting is a plus, but not required
Internship Details
- Work schedule: 5-day work week, starting at 6:30am / 7:00am
- Duration: 3–6 months contract
- Career opportunity: Potential to convert to a full-time Pastry Commis position upon successful completion of the internship
