Perishable Expert, Airfreight

Job Description:

We are looking for a capable and motivated Airfreight Team Leader to join our growing airfreight team specialising in perishable logistics . This role offers the chance to work in a high-paced, customer-focused environment within a global freight forwarder that is expanding rapidly across the Asia Pacific region.

In this role, you will:

• Support and assist in supervising daily operations for airfreight import and export of perishables such as food, dairy, seafood, and floral cargo.
• Oversee a small operational team across multiple shifts, ensuring service reliability and smooth handovers.
• Ensure compliance with all Singapore import/export regulations and relevant food safety standards.
• Have working knowledge of airfreight procedures for shipments to/from Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, France, Italy, and the United States .
• Coordinate closely with subcontractors, airlines, ground handlers, and regulatory agencies.
• Maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and agents through excellent service and proactive updates.
• Understand and apply correct packing and cold chain requirements for different perishable product categories.
• Be ready to support operations outside of office hours and attend to urgent shipments or airport situations when required.
• Help guide and train junior staff and maintain accurate documentation and Perishable Expert
• Attend industry functions and client meetings to build relationships and support business growth.
• An interest in the food and perishables sector is a bonus.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in airfreight logistics , with exposure to perishable cargo operations.
• Familiarity with Singapore customs and quarantine processes and airport logistics.
• Competency in TMS systems and ideally CargoWise .
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook .
• Excellent spoken and written English . Additional languages such as French or Tamil are a plus.
• A team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think clearly under pressure.
• Willing to work shifts, be contactable after hours, and travel to the airport office when needed.
• Open to attending customer functions and work events to build rapport with clients and vendors.
