Micromil Carbontech Pte Ltd , established in March 2014, will hire a Process Chemist (Catalyst development and scaleup) for our proprietary process. The person will play a key role in providing catalyst chemistry capabilities to the laboratory and pilot plant in a start-up environment. The initial period of employment is for 2 years and there is possibility for renewal. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on person who has no qualms about getting their hands dirty. There is ample opportunity for growth that is pegged to the success of the project.
Job Description/Key Responsibilities
1. Design, build and operate laboratory facilities to produce catalyst in grams to kilograms scale.
2. Development of new catalyst formulations and testing of the same to produce CNTs in grams to kilograms scale.
3. Responsible for laboratory equipment and the chemical processing systems, associated equipment, and components where applicable.
4. Work with vendors/regulatory bodies/partners where applicable.
5. Participate in relevant safety studies.
6. Ensure compliance to OHSMS/relevant regulations and follow industrial best practices.
7. Analyse and summarise experimental data, communicate and present results and prepare regular summaries and progress report to management and partners.
8. Be able to lift weights of up to 25kg as fixing and dismantling laboratory scale reactors and equipment is required.
9. Any other work as assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Good communication skills and able to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Highly motivated and can work independently.
- Willing to work at JTC Chemicals Hub @ Tuas South (we DO NOT provide transportation).
- Fresh Ph.D. graduates with relevant catalyst development and scaleup experience may be considered.
