Overview
Supervising and managing constructionprojects from start to finish, ensuringadherence to project plans and specifications.
Reporting project updates, milestones andpotential risks to the project manager and keystakeholders.
Analysing and interpreting engineeringdrawings, survey reports and other technicaldocumentation to guide the constructionprocess.
Planning and overseeing allocating resources,materials and equipment to optimise projectefficiency.
Monitoring project costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities and adhering to budgetconstraints.
Providing technical guidance and expertise toresolve construction-related challenges.
Your tasks
Oversee and manage construction activities atthe site, ensuring adherence to projectspecifications, codes and safety regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitorprogress, identify potential issues and ensure compliance with engineering and designrequirements.
Collaborate closely with project managers,architects and subcontractors to ensure timelyproject completion.
Analyse and interpret engineering plans, aerialphotography, blueprints, topographical &geologic data and technical drawings to planand execute construction activities.
Coordinate the procurement and delivery ofconstruction materials, ensuring theircompliance with industry standards.
Identifying potential risks and implementingpreventive measures to minimise projectdelays, cost overruns and safety hazards.
Maintain accurate project documentation,including progress reports, site diaries, changeorders and quality control measures.
Required skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering is required.
4-5 years of experience as a site engineer, civilengineer or an equivalent role.
Demonstrated proficiency in managing andsupervising construction projects.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, GIS,AutoCAD and other software.
Ability to manage multiple constructionprojects at various stages of their lifecycle.
Strong knowledge of construction methods,materials and regulations.
Competent in assessing, interpreting andpresenting survey reports and other criticaldata for stakeholders and shareholders.
Excellent project management andorganisational skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-makingabilities with effective communication.
Ability to work effectively in a team andcoordinate with multiple stakeholders.
Attention to detail and a focus on deliveringhigh-quality results.
Preferred skills and qualifications
Relevant engineering certifications, like Project Management Professional (PMP) orConstruction Health and Safety Technician(CHST).
Thorough knowledge of the SingaporeBuilding Code, safety regulations andstandards.
Excellent interpersonal, leadership andmanagement skills.
Knowledge of sustainable constructionpractices.
Understanding of budgeting and cost control.
