Job Summary
We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Project Engineer (Electrical) to support high-voltage electrical systems and infrastructure works for power plant projects located at Jurong Island . The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in power distribution systems, substation equipment, and electrical installation in industrial or power generation environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in providing electrical engineering and project coordination services for 230kV power plant and substation projects.
- Manage and supervise electrical works including installation of switchgear, transformers, cable trays, earthing systems, and protection systems.
- Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams for timely project delivery.
- Monitor on-site electrical installation to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Support testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Track project timelines, cost control, and submit technical progress reports.
- Engage with authorities for permits, inspections, and compliance with EMA, SP, and other statutory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve site-related electrical issues as they arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering for power plant or substation projects (preferably 66kV/230kV systems).
- Strong understanding of high-voltage systems, protection schemes, and power distribution infrastructure.
- Familiar with local codes, regulations, and industrial safety standards.
- Strong project coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working on Jurong Island or similar restricted industrial sites is advantageous.
