Recycling Operations & Material Processing In-Charge

Metal Recycling and trading firm specialising in ferrous and non-ferrous scrap processing and recovery solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations at material recycling facilities across various locations in Singapore, including loading/unloading, manual sorting, machine-based segregation , weighing, and organised storage of recycled metals.
• Operate and oversee the use of recycling equipment such as shears and cable strippers to ensure efficient material recovery.
• Ensure proper grading, classification, and processing of metal scrap materials including copper, aluminium, stainless steel, zinc, and cables.
• Monitor and enforce strict workplace safety , environmental hygiene, and housekeeping standards according to NEA and MOM regulations.
• Coordinate with internal logistics and trading teams to align material inflow and outflow with sales and operational demands.
• Maintain accurate stock records and update real-time inventory through internal systems (Microsoft Excel or ERP tools).
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and escalate repair needs for recycling machines and facility infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance and supervision to site staff and general workers to uphold material quality and throughput targets.
• Liaise with transport contractors, equipment suppliers , and relevant agencies to ensure smooth site operations and compliance.
• Submit daily reports on stock availability, machine usage , and site performance to senior management.

Key Requirements

• Any diploma or degree
• Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in a material recycling plant, scrapyard, or heavy industrial processing facility.
• Strong understanding of metal grades and classifications (ferrous and non-ferrous) and experience in scrap material identification .
• Skilled in operating or supervising equipment such as hydraulic shears and wire/cable strippers .
• Familiar with waste handling standards , ISO practices, and workplace safety protocols in industrial environments.
• Able to interpret process flow charts, machine operating manuals, and maintenance checklists .
• Technically inclined, with basic knowledge of electrical or hydraulic systems preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or basic inventory tracking systems.
• Physically fit and willing to work in outdoor recycling yard environments with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.
• Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
