S-Lab for Advanced Intelligence, established in 2020, is a university laboratory at NTU focusing on research and development of cutting-edge AI technologies in computer vision, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, deep learning, and distributed computing. We aim to create impactful applications spanning various strategic areas in partnership with academic, industry, and government organizations.
We are seeking Research Associate to join a university-level research centre collaborating with industry. The position is for one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Successful candidates will be involved in a project that is related to generative design.
Key Responsibilities:
- To independently undertake research in machine learning.
- To publish high-quality research papers as required by the funding body or for dissemination to the wider academic community.
- To provide guidance and support to any students associated with the project.
- To attend, contribute, and where necessary lead relevant meetings.
- To undertake any other duties relevant to the programme of research.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related discipline;
- Have a solid foundation in Machine Learning and Computer Vision.
- Strong publication records in top-tier machine learning conferences/journals, such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ECCV, ICLR, ICML, AAAI, etc;
- Knowledge of scientific or engineering software like PyTorch etc.;
- Demonstrate outstanding communication skills, clear logical thinking, and willingness to learn.
Additional criteria:
- Research experience in relevant areas would be desirable (preferably worked in R&D sector with industrial experience in the project-related field).
- Ability to work with limited supervision and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or irregular hours, depending on the demands of research experiments or project deadlines.
