In 2013, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) jointly established the Air Traffic Management Research Institute in Singapore, with the vision to set up a renowned ATM research institute, finding innovative solutions, and catalyzing an ATM transformation in the region. ATMRI is currently leading cutting-edge research on ATM, with the vision to facilitate next-generation ATM by developing advanced AI and Data Analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the setup, configuration, and operation of ATM simulation platforms for research and experimentation purposes.
- Assist in the development and integration of simulation scenarios, including traffic data, airspace structure, and operational procedures.
- Ensure regular maintenance, software updates, and troubleshooting of simulation systems to ensure operational readiness.
- Work closely with researchers and project teams to understand simulation requirements and provide technical support during simulation runs.
- Document system configurations, simulation procedures, and technical issues encountered during experiments.
- Coordinate with external vendors or internal IT teams for system upgrades, licensing, and hardware support when necessary.
- Contribute to the testing and validation of simulation tools or new functionalities developed under research projects.
- Support knowledge transfer activities such as training sessions, demonstrations, or workshops for simulation users.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
- Familiarity with air traffic management concepts, simulators and simulation environments
- Experience with integrating and supporting simulation systems, including basic hardware troubleshooting and system maintenance
- Proficient in programming, for data handling, system interfacing, or automation tasks
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to work independently and collaboratively with research teams
- Good communication and documentation skills
