Project: Children’s Homes
Job Description:
The Resident Engineer (RE) for the Children’s Homes project shall be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day site activities to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and statutory regulations. The RE acts as the Engineer’s representative on-site and coordinates closely with the contractor, consultants, and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely, safe, and quality delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all construction works at site, including architectural, structural, and M&E elements
- Ensure that all works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and relevant authority requirements (e.g., BCA, SCDF, URA).
- Review and monitor the contractor’s construction programme, progress, and workmanship.
- Attend and conduct regular site inspections, technical meetings, and safety briefings.
- Identify and resolve site issues in a timely and effective manner, escalating complex matters to the QP(Supervision)/Consultants when necessary.
- Check and verify contractor's submissions such as shop drawings, method statements, and material proposals.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, progress, variations, and correspondences.
- Ensure site safety and environmental management practices are adhered to in accordance with prevailing regulations and best practices.
- Provide timely reports and updates to the consultants on site matters.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised institution.
- Registered Resident Engineer with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB), Singapore.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant site supervision experience in building construction works.
- Prior experience in institutional or healthcare/residential projects (e.g., schools, dormitories, homes) is preferred.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
