The Sales and Catering Executive plays a key role in promoting and managing group bookings, private events, and catering services for an Indonesian restaurant. This position involves client engagement, event coordination, and cross-team collaboration to ensure exceptional delivery of authentic Indonesian dining experiences for both onsite and offsite occasions.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
- Proactively generate new leads and convert inquiries into confirmed bookings for group dining and catering.
- Promote the restaurant’s Indonesian cuisine and catering offerings to corporate clients, social groups, and community organizations.
- Build relationships with embassies, Indonesian cultural groups, travel agencies, and local businesses for partnership and referral opportunities.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales targets, reporting progress to management.
Client Engagement & Event Planning
- Handle all catering and event inquiries promptly, offering professional guidance and showcasing authentic Indonesian menu options.
- Prepare detailed proposals and event quotations that reflect traditional Indonesian culinary themes, presentation styles, and dietary considerations (e.g., Halal).
- Conduct site visits and menu tastings when necessary.
- Advise clients on traditional Indonesian presentation styles, buffet layouts, and cultural nuances.
Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation of Indonesian dishes such as Nasi Tumpeng, Rendang, Satay, and traditional desserts.
- Work with service staff to ensure proper setup, table arrangements, and culturally appropriate serving etiquette.
- Supervise the execution of large-scale events (e.g., Majlis, weddings, corporate luncheons) either in-house or at client venues.
- Act as the main point of contact on event day to ensure smooth operation and client satisfaction.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, contracts, event details, and post-event feedback.
- Ensure proper handling of deposits, billing, and invoicing in coordination with finance.
- Update and manage a database of recurring clients and community contacts.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in catering/event sales, preferably in an F&B or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge or passion for Indonesian cuisine and cultural traditions is highly preferred.
- Fluent in English; ability to speak Bahasa Indonesia or Malay is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office, event planning software, and CRM tools.
