Job Summary
This role offers the opportunity to learn consultative, solution-based sales in a professional and fast-paced environment. Sales Engineers spend about two days a week in the office and three days visiting manufacturers in their assigned territory, providing face-to-face consultations to address critical quality control, reliability, and research or design challenges. While the products are highly technical, comprehensive training will be provided to help you become an expert in delivering tailored solutions and conducting successful sales consultations.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend paid product and application training (approximately 3 to 6 months).
- Develop a thorough understanding of company products and applications through classes, seminars, and on-the-job training.
- Provide technical consultation and recommend suitable products/services for customer applications across various industries.
- Adapt quickly to evolving business needs and customer challenges.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries.
- Consistently secure new customers and grow the client base.
- Travel to customer sites three days per week to promote and sell products/services to a wide range of industries.
- Contribute to account strategies and territory growth plans.
- Support new product launches and increase market share in the assigned territory.
- Organize and participate in seminars and trade shows as needed.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Preferably a Degree in Business or Engineering.
- Strong interest in mastering highly technical products.
- Comfortable working in manufacturing environments.
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong listening skills and ability to respond proactively to customer needs.
- Goal-oriented, hardworking, and driven to make measurable contributions.
- Willingness to learn through intensive training, mentorship, and structured sales processes.
- Willing to travel up to 60% of the time, including occasional overnight trips. Possession of a valid Class 3 driving licence is preferred.
