To lead efforts within SPH Media Trust in partnering with business units to provide quality descriptive and prescriptive analytics, we are looking for a Senior Manager, Data Analytics
Responsibilities
- Executive-Level Presentations – Synthesize complex findings into clear, visually engaging, and strategically aligned presentations for senior leadership.
- Insight Generation – Lead the Balanced Scorecard, Monthly Business Reviews, and Insights function, delivering actionable insights from diverse data sources—including customer behaviour, product performance, and market trends—to support senior leadership reviews and inform strategic actions.
- Techno-Functional Oversight – Act as the link (Analytics Business Partner) between business teams and data solutions, ensuring clear communication and alignment on data needs across SPH Media.
- Storytelling with Data – Elevate the narrative of analytics through concise, compelling, and impactful storytelling tailored for diverse audiences.
- Strategic Leadership – Work with executive leaders to create and deliver a strategic analytics roadmap, focusing on high-impact projects within set timelines.
- Team Leadership – Guide the team in translating business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring solutions are actionable and aligned to business needs.
- Collaboration – Collaborate and partner with business units and external partners to identify, plan, and prioritise descriptive and prescriptive analytics projects, fostering a data-centric culture that drives business impact.
- Partnership with Data Engineering – Work with Data Engineering to improve the availability and quality of data pipelines, tools, and processes.
- Partnership with Data Science – Collaborate with the Data Science team to identify project synergies for the business.
- Contribution to Data Growth – Participate in infrastructural project teams, providing input from a business unit’s analytical needs perspective.
- Champion Best Practices – Promote excellence in analytics, data visualization, and insight delivery to enhance the team’s impact and efficiency.
- Hands-On Contribution – Take a hands-on role in selected data analytics projects where you can add the most value to the team and the business.
Who We Are Looking For
You’ll excel in this role if you have experience in most of the following:
- Team Leadership – Leading a team of at least 4–6 data analysts, providing project guidance, technical and career coaching, performance reviews, and workload prioritisation.
- Descriptive and Prescriptive Insights – Delivering clearly presented, high-quality insights that tell a story and lead to actionable recommendations for the business.
- Understanding of Digital Media – Experience in, or an understanding of, the digital media landscape, including key metrics across both digital content and digital advertising.
- Excellent Communication Skills – Acting as a trusted consultant to business units; influencing stakeholders in person and in writing; communicating messages clearly and persuasively.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management – Building relationships with stakeholders at all levels to understand their business needs and strategic goals.
- Project Planning & Management – Conceptualising and adding value to projects by ensuring clear objectives, defined scope, and effective timeline management, while troubleshooting issues along the way.
- Tools & Platforms – Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, Google Analytics, and dashboarding tools. Experience with Tableau and/or Amazon Quicksight is an advantage, but the ability to quickly pick up new data tools is essential.
- Data Team Collaboration – Experience working with data science, engineering, and governance teams to improve data processes and business outcomes.
- Consulting Background Preferred – Experience in consulting environments, particularly in delivering data-driven business recommendations, is a plus.
