The Exercise Physiologist will be supporting Sports Medicine services under the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Responsbilities
- Assist the Sports Physician in the application of physical activity and behavioural interventions where they have been scientifically proven to provide therapeutic or functional benefit
- Develop exercise testing and prescription programmes for healthy and clinical populations, as well as individuals with controlled disease
- Conduct audits to track the outcomes of these programmes as well as research related activities
- Involved in continuing medical education programmes for clinical staff and trainees, as well as the public and be required to undergo further training, including attachments to other sports medicine and sports science institutes.
Requirements
- A good university degree in related science discipline, e.g. Sports Science, Human Movement, Kinesiology.
- Preferably with 3 years working experience as an Exercise Physiologist in a clinical setting.
- Working experience with national athletes and/or dancers or dance experience is an added advantage.
