The Senior Product Manager is responsible for driving product strategy, managing cross-border product development, and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions that meet customer needs and business objectives. This role is based in Singapore and manages distributed product teams across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam, with high anticipation of expanding to other ASEAN countries. The position serves as a key strategic partner to the CEO and CTO, bridging business requirements with technical execution across ASEAN markets.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Partner with the CEO to develop and execute the product vision and roadmap aligned with business objectives
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis for Singapore and ASEAN markets.
- Define product positioning, go-to-market strategies, and value propositions.
- Translate business requirements into precise product specifications and user stories.
- Drive product-market fit initiatives and expansion strategies
Cross-Border Team Management
- Manage and mentor Product Owners/teams across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam (remote management)
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Director and development teams across multiple ASEAN countries.
- Coordinate product development activities across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and future ASEAN markets.
- Establish product management processes and best practices for distributed teams across diverse regulatory environments.
- Facilitate cross-cultural communication and alignment across ASEAN markets with varying business practices.
Product Development & Execution
- Own product backlog prioritisation and feature roadmap planning
- Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements documents
- Partner with CTO and engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and optimal solutions
- Lead agile development processes, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Make data-driven decisions on feature development and product iterations
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as primary product liaison between Singapore business strategy and Malaysia/Indonesia/Vietnam execution teams.
- Present product updates, roadmaps, and performance metrics to the CEO and senior leadership
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer success teams across multiple ASEAN markets on product launches.
- Gather and analyse customer feedback from diverse cultural and business contexts to inform product decisions.
- Manage expectations and communication across multiple time zones, languages, and cultural frameworks.
Solution Architecture & Business Analysis
- Bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation across diverse markets.
- Work with engineering teams to design optimal solutions for complex business problems across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ensure product solutions comply with the regulatory requirements of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and future ASEAN countries.
- Support technical architecture decisions that impact user experience and business outcomes across different cultural contexts.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 5-8 years of product management experience with 2+ years in senior product roles
- Experience managing remote or distributed product teams
- Proven track record of successful product launches and delivery
Technical & Business Skills
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies (MANDATORY)
- Experience building and managing software products with complex user workflows (MANDATORY)
- SaaS platform experience strongly preferred (subscription models, user onboarding, retention, churn management)
- Experience with product management tools (Jira, Confluence, Figma, Analytics platforms)
- Business analysis and solution design capabilities for software solutions
- Data analysis skills and experience with product analytics (user behaviour, conversion funnels, cohort analysis)
- Understanding of UX/UI principles and user-centred design for software products
- Knowledge of ASEAN market dynamics and customer behaviours is preferred
Leadership & Communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience mentoring and developing junior product team members
- Strong presentation and stakeholder management abilities
- Cross-cultural communication and remote team leadership experience
- Ability to influence without authority across organizational boundaries
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (MBA preferred) or relevant advanced certification
- Product management certification (Certified Scrum Product Owner, Product Management Institute)
- Experience in EdTech, LMS, or AI-powered learning solutions preferred but not required
- Previous experience working across Singapore-Malaysia-Indonesia markets
- Technical background or engineering experience
- Experience with B2B SaaS, fintech, or marketplace products
Mandatory Requirements
- Must be comfortable managing teams across different time zones and cultural contexts (Singapore GMT+8, Malaysia GMT+8, Indonesia GMT+7/+8/+9, Vietnam GMT+7)
- Experience with remote team management and asynchronous communication across multiple countries
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability for working across diverse ASEAN markets with different business practices, languages, and regulatory environments
- Ability to travel between Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and future ASEAN countries (quarterly visits, up to 25% travel time)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities for complex multi-market challenges
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements across multiple ASEAN jurisdictions is strongly preferred
- Anticipation management skills for rapid expansion into new markets (Thailand, Philippines, etc.)
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team collaboration across 4+ countries
