Marina Bay Sands is seeking a qualified candidate for Senior Project Manager of Project and Construction Management for a new construction project, at Marina Bay Sands Singapore. The new development, Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort 2 (‘MBSIR2’), is located immediately adjacent to the existing Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort. The key elements of the MBSIR2 Project will be a state-of the-art 15,000-seat arena. An all-suite luxury hotel tower with associated amenities and MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) space.
Summary of Job Responsibilities
Reporting to Director level position and being responsible for the collaborative progression of planning, design development, construction of the project through testing & commissioning and handover.
The candidate will be working for the Arena section of the Development and preferably have experience in Arena or Stadium structural steel frame and RC construction techniques.
This candidate must be comfortable working closely with our internal multi-disciplinary delivery teams in design and project management and consultant teams. The design and delivery responsibilities span a broad spectrum covering all the areas of holistic Project Management such as – Design Planning/Development/Delivery, Project Planning, Safety, Cost/Commercial Management, Quality Management and Contract Administration.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the onsite team and ensure project completion within the set budget, schedule and conformance with design documents.
- Advise and establish clear project programmes and milestones to monitor and report project progress.
- Establish regularly scheduled meetings with the contractors and design team to review the following: shop drawing preparation/approval, equipment/material lead times and required on-site dates, manpower projections vis-a-vis the project schedule, quality/performance issues on and off site.
- Identify any factory visits that may be required and schedule accordingly.
- Ensure all costs and risk updates are communicated and incorporated into the overall project reporting.
- Obtain approvals for changes to the project that have been generated by the contractor team.
- Establish adequate Inspection and Testing hold points enforced to ensure the desired quality of delivery is maintained.
- Coordinate with the Resident Site Staff (RSS) leader ensuring timely inspections and sign-off of the works.
- Obtain client’s acceptance of the work, and sign-off for the completed project. Responsible for the preparation and submission of the final project report, and prompt close-out of the contractors.
- Track, address, and resolve project-related conflicts and issues
- Initiate site activity investigations and assessments.
- Evaluate and assess equipment and recommend designs for the project team integrating safety measures.
- Prepare detailed, accurate timely project reports including work schedules, implementations, and deviations.
- Initiate and implement best practices, procedures and standards in compliance with Company’s regulations
- Conduct regular site visits and audits to maintain project standards
- Highlight potential risk, changes, and/or delays within the works
- Report on specialist progress in relation to the programme and MC structural handover
- Monitor construction quality and ensure adherence to specifications. Ensuring that project QC checks are done and aligned with the approved ITP
- Coordinate with the Resident Site Staff (RSS) leader ensuring timely inspections and sign-off of the works.
- Ensure timely project completion while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Oversee final inspections, project handover, and closeout documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Establish and attend regularly scheduled design meetings with the contractors and design team to review the following: shop drawing preparation/approval, equipment/material submissions and lead times and required on-site dates, manpower projections vis-a-vis the project schedule, quality/performance issues on and off site
- Manage the request for Information process ensuring accurate and in-time replies to close out design issues.
- Establish and attend regularly scheduled design meetings with the contractors and design team to review the following: shop drawing preparation/approval, equipment/material submissions and lead times and required on-site dates, manpower projections vis-a-vis the project schedule, quality/performance issues on and off site.
- Track and manage design changes both internally with our consultants and externally with the MC and specialist.
- Manage the integration and accuracy of all embed requirements within construction timeframes.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with steelwork design and construction.
- Coordinate and integrate Design for Safety, Design for Maintainability and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- BSc Building/Construction Management discipline or a similar field.
- 15+ years previous work experience, incorporating Arena, Stadium, Steel Frame and RC construction techniques.
- Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards and other project-related activities, their interfaces and interdependencies.
- Knowledge of Truss & Steel member fabrication processes and techniques.
- Good comprehension of logistical requirements associated with large, fabricated steel sections delivered to spatially constrained construction footprints.
- Experienced in temporary works and lifting techniques associated with steel frame and roof truss assembly and installation.
- Knowledge of falsework/formwork systems for composite steel and fair faced RC works.
- Knowledge of Precast Plat bowl construction and integration of MEP bowl cooling systems.
- Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the budget process.
- Ability to communicate effectively across different departments and companies.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and working with others.
