Senior Software Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Software Test Engineer to lead and manage testing activities across complex software projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and technical leadership skills, with a deep understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices. This is a 24-month contract opportunity.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans for assigned projects.
• Manage end-to-end test activities, coordinating with internal teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project teams to analyze requirements and determine test scope.
• Design and develop test deliverables including test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Execute functional tests via UI and APIs, documenting results with screenshots and summaries.
• Work with automation teams to identify and develop automated regression test cases.
• Communicate test conditions, schedules, and reporting processes to stakeholders.
• Conduct test result walkthroughs and secure stakeholder sign-off.
• Log, track, and manage defects using tools like JIRA, ensuring timely resolution.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on testing progress and issues.
• Prepare and deliver daily/weekly test reports highlighting progress and key findings.
• Create knowledge-sharing documentation and conduct internal training sessions.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in functional software testing and test planning.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills, especially under pressure.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
• Proven ability to understand complex business requirements and system workflows.
• Experience in equities trading and/or clearing systems is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL and database testing is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., TOSCA) is preferred.
• Experience with API testing (e.g., FIX, REST, SWIFT) is a strong plus.
• Understanding of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification is preferred.
