Scope of Responsibilities
Responsible for the management of post fixture services of allocated vessels which will include:
1. Review fixture recaps/charter parties and provide instructions, guidance and information as required to Masters.
2. Co-ordinate and liaise as required with Charterers, agents and other parties involved in the vessels’ operations.
3. Monitor vessel performance against charter party requirements, liaising with managers as required.
4. Ensure documentation in relation to Bills of Lading (Letters of Authorization/ LOI’s etc.) are issued.
5. Monitor voyage documentation (NOR/SOF/Logs and Records/Notes of Protest etc).
6. Provide guidance to the Masters for hold cleaning and hatch/hold maintenance.
7. Manage FD&D claims, speed claims and any other disputes with Charterers.
8. Raise charter hire invoices and submit to Charterers.
9. Maintain electronic filing of commercial/operational documentation.
10. Maintain monthly record of performance (off-hire/downtime/operational charter hire deductions
etc.)
11. Contribute to the continual development of the post fixture management function within the company.
12. Assist with insurance matters, including claims, documentation and renewals.
13. Produce weekly and monthly reports for commercial, insurance and accounting use.
Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in related studies or equivalent
- At least 4 years of experience in geared Dry Bulk Carriers
- Experience with ship operations and charter parties, especially post-fixture work
- Experience in ship owner company is preferred
- Sound shipping knowledge with thorough understanding of Bills of Lading, voyage documentation, c/p terms and trade requirements
- Possess good planning and organizing skills
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
