Job Description – Structural Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and oversee construction and structural engineering works to ensure compliance with design, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Prepare and submit inspection requests for structural works, including Inspection Forms for RTO inspections .
- Coordinate and carry out site inspections with the RTO, consultants, and relevant authorities.
- Manage and monitor QA/QC control of structural works , including coordination with subcontractors to ensure quality standards and project specifications are met.
- Supervise structural construction activities to ensure workmanship, materials, and methods comply with design intent and code requirements.
- Identify, report, and resolve technical and site issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare progress reports, method statements, and technical documentation.
- Liaise with project managers, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety and health regulations.
Requirements:
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in structural works within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of structural codes, standards, and local regulatory requirements.
- Experience in preparing inspection requests, QA/QC documentation, and liaising with RTOs and authorities.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
