We are seeking a Technical Superintendent (Bunkering) to oversee the technical operations and maintenance of bunker tankers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in bunker vessel management, a solid marine engineering background and excellent coordination and compliance skills. This role is based in Singapore and reports to the Technical Manager or Fleet Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day technical operations of assigned bunker tankers, including preventive and corrective maintenance
- Ensure compliance with local and international maritime regulations (e.g., MPA, MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM)
- Plan and supervise dry-docking, repairs, inspections and maintenance activities
- Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption and machinery condition
- Liaise with vessel Masters, Chief Engineers, shipyards and classification societies
- Maintain vessel certification, documentation and class requirements
- Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Monitor technical budgets and ensure cost-effective operations
- Support crewing, training, and vessel readiness from a technical perspective
- Travel for vessel visits, audits and inspections when required
Requirements:
- Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1 or Class 2 preferred
- At least 3–5 years of sea-going experience as a Chief or Second Engineer, preferably on tankers or bunker vessels
- Prior shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of bunkering operations and MPA compliance
- Experience managing dry docks and technical budgets
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and planning skills
- Familiarity with ISM Code, PMS systems and safety management systems
- Able to travel occasionally for vessel inspections
