VBunkers is 100% owned by Vitol, an expert bunker tanker manager and operator with extensive experience of physical bunker supplies in the port of Singapore, the world’s largest bunkering port, and a fleet of 21 modern Singapore flagged bunker tankers.
Job Description
- Manage recruitment of rating, crew and officers for vessel, in accordance to regulatory, company policy and commercial requirements – in consultation with the Managers
- Handle all aspects of employment administration of crew, include processing of payroll, tax calculations and other contributions according to relevant regulations
- Prepare Seafarer’s Employment Agreements (SEA) according to regulated wage scales and brief seafarers on their SEA, company policies and operational procedures
- Applying Flag state documents for crew
- Conduct briefing and/or debriefing to officers as and when required
- Issue Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to new and existing crew members, and to maintain stock availability
- Check, verify and reconcile monthly accounts prepared by Masters
- Arrange and coordinate timely CTM as and when required
- Oversee digital port processes to ensure compliance with relevant port regulations
- Assist in keying invoice billing details into IPR system
- Arrangement of crew ashore
- Arrange, plan and coordinate for medical appointments
- Handle Work Pass applications
- Organize, plan and oversee crew movement (sign-on/sign-off)
- Handle Crew Transfer Applications (for new vessel)
- Keeping track of personnel preparation for next appointments
- Verify and monitor expiry date of certificate/ qualifications/ documentation
- Maintain records of qualifications, training and experience of sea staff
- Ensure the officers and ratings are suitably certificated, licensed and have valid work permits
- Ensure that the ships are manned in accordance with regulations and that ships’ crew are suitably trained and experienced to STCW requirements
- Vessel Safe Manning
- Assisting in crew appraisal and updating of monthly crew matrix
- Manage and record crew insurance claims
- Assist with planning and booking of training courses
- Any other task as assigned by Crewing Manager
Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Maritime Studies / Marine Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience, preferably in Marine Industry
- With tanker or bunkering company knowledge preferred
- Multilingual would be an advantage
- Meticulous, pro-active with positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good interpersonal skills and able to work well with others in a fast-paced working environment
- Able to work independently and as a team
- Knowledge of Mandatory STCW certifications, Seafarers’ employment, MLC and Flag State requirement
- Energetic, resilient and resourceful, with an ability to work accurately under pressure
