POSITION OVERVIEW:
The VP – Data Centre Operations will play a pivotal role in building, maintaining and growing client relations, understanding our customers’ needs and meeting those through the effective management of our services.
The successful candidate will perform a range of duties with overall responsibility for the careful planning, co-ordination and delivery of client resourcing projects in line with our customer needs. The VP will engage with all areas of the business to ensure the consistent deployment of processes, resources and technology to achieve the business goals.
Key areas of responsibility: Business development, budgetary control, customer relationship management, networking, strategic planning, people management and performance reporting, globally.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Overall responsibility for leading and delivering a world class Data Centre Operations service for a global portfolio of clients.
- Ownership of financial planning, forecasting and budget management for Data Centre services.
- Establish SLAs and operational KPIs for managed services and driving continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement data analysis and reporting suite to proactively identify opportunities for improving efficiencies and managing risks.
- Provide vision, leadership and guidance to the team for the full managed services life cycle in line with EOS’s culture and values.
- Proactively engage and negotiate with senior level customers to ensure that services are evaluated, managed and delivered to agreed levels of availability and performance.
- Identify and optimise the resources needed to plan, develop and deliver flexible and scalable services against client needs and scope of work, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Advise and guide Service Delivery teams to co-ordinate new business wins and vendor transfer arrangements.
- Provide ongoing proactive client management through regular business reviews, executive engagement, and regular client communications.
- Lead and participate in strategic review meetings and reporting back to the Executive team.
- Work with the HR and Recruitment teams to source the required skills and knowledge, strategically planning on-boarding, training and development, succession planning and retention goals.
- Maintain open channels of communication, working collaboratively with other team functions globally.
- Be a proactive contributor to support the organization with the ability to undertake projects and tasks assigned by the Executive team.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Demonstrate a minimum of 10 years senior experience preferably within the IT Managed Services sector or similar industry.
- Experience in the operational management of Data Centres
- Minimum 8-10 years in a senior management position with experience of managing technology, staff and budgets.
- 5-7 years leadership experience working on RFPs and proposals for managed services.
- Experience building and managing relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Experience with data analysis and making data-driven leadership decisions.
- Flexible in relation to working hours to support operational needs.
- A client-centric approach combined with strategic thinking.
- Ability to navigate complex and fast-paced environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a strong sense of urgency in driving initiatives to completion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to readily communicate with all levels of the organization.
