The Workplace Safety & Health cum Environmental Officer duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- To assist the occupier of the workplace or other person in charge of the workplace to identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes therein;
- To recommend to the occupier of the workplace or other in charge of the workplace reasonably practicable measures;
- To recommend on minimizing the risk, and safe work procedures to control the risk;
- To assist in implementing the measures or safe work procedures;
- To investigate any incidents/accidents and advise on the remedial measures to be taken to prevent any recurrence;
- To work closely with the relevant authorities on safety and health matters;
- To administer and implement an effective Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) in accordance with prevailing legislation and preparation for third-party external safety audit;
- Conduct Environmental, Health and Safety Audits as per requirements;
- Making certain that all ordinances or orders bearing on occupational safety and health and environmental are complied with local laws;
- To prepare and conduct the EHS training for all employees which are identified in RA and SWP;Measure and monitor the WSH performance of the project and discuss WSH performance in the WHS committee meetings;
- Perform ECO duties as assigned;
- Be responsible for any other duties that may be assigned from time to time as your superior/management deem fit.
