About the Company
We are a leading salvage and marine services company in Singapore, providing specialized solutions in emergency response, wreck removal, towage, and offshore support. With safety, efficiency, and compliance at the core of our operations, we are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
1) Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare full sets of accounts, monthly/quarterly/year-end closing, and financial statements in compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
- Consolidate accounts for group entities where required.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of management reports.
2) Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Monitor and analyze variances between actual results and budgets.
3) Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Manage invoicing, billing, and collection processes for salvage projects.
- Verify vendor invoices, process payments, and maintain supplier accounts.
- Ensure timely follow-up on outstanding receivables.
4) Project & Job Costing
- Track salvage project expenses and revenues, ensuring proper allocation and reporting.
- Work closely with operations team to monitor job profitability and cost efficiency.
5) Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, GST filings, and corporate tax requirements in Singapore.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain accurate financial documentation for audits and inspections.
6) Internal Controls & Process Improvements
- Develop and strengthen accounting processes and internal controls.
- Recommend improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in marine, shipping, oil & gas, or project-based industries.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, GST, and tax regulations.
- Working knowledge of Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting-related tools.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with cross-functional teams.
- Singapore Citizens only.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in project/job costing in marine or offshore projects.
- Familiarity with international transactions (foreign currency, cross-border payments). Prior exposure to shipping/maritime industry practices is an advantage.
