The successful appointee will contribute to research and teaching in nanostructured materials and nanophotonics, with emphasis on nanofabrication, nanoplasmonics, and quantum optotwistronics. He will collaborate on major initiatives including the MTC Programmatic Grant on Van der Waals engineering, the NRF CRP on optotwistronics, and the MTC IRG on nonlinear structured light generation. In addition, the appointee will teach a postgraduate/undergraduate course on nanostructured materials, co-supervise student projects, and contribute to academic service through leadership in professional societies and international conferences.
The successful appointee will be expected to:
- Lead and contribute to collaborative research programmes in nanostructured materials, nanophotonics, and quantum optotwistronics, including the MTC Programmatic Grant, NRF CRP, and MTC IRG projects.
- Deliver impactful research outcomes in the form of high-quality publications, device prototypes, and contributions to the advancement of photonic materials technologies.
- Teach a postgraduate/undergraduate course on nanostructured materials and contribute to curriculum development where appropriate.
- Supervise and co-supervise undergraduate, Masters, and PhD students, fostering their academic and professional growth.
- Strengthen MSE’s academic networks through leadership in professional societies and the organisation of international conferences such as ICMAT.
- Enhance institutional collaborations between NTU, A*STAR, and international partners to expand the School’s research and global engagement.
Adjunct Faculty appointments are extended to distinguished scientists with recognised expertise and strong collaborative ties with

- Possess internationally recognised expertise in nanostructured materials, nanophotonics, and related fields, with a strong record of impactful publications and citations.
- Demonstrate leadership in major collaborative research programmes, with experience in fostering cross-institutional and international partnerships
- Be recognised by the research community through invited talks, professional society roles, or contributions to international conferences.
- Contribute meaningfully to the Schools’ academic mission through joint research, student supervision, and specialised teaching in their area of expertise.
