[What the role is]
As Assistant Director (Special Projects), you will lead and oversee the formulation, implementation, and review of special projects at the CDC, including but not limiting to CDC Vouchers Scheme.The role involves conducting ground sensing, needs assessment, and data analytics while working closely with various stakeholders including government agencies, community partners, heartland merchants, and grassroots organisations.
You will lead a team comprising Senior Manager, Outreach Managers, and CDC Ambassadors, ensuring effective programme coordination and publicity.
You will work closely with Deputy General Manager to coach and guide the team members, develope staff capabilities, manage team performance, and handling administrative matters.
The role requires strong stakeholder management skills to build and maintain relationships with government agencies and community partners, as well as the ability to coordinate reports, provide strategic feedback, and formulate workplans and budgets with District Councillors of Standing Committees.

Key duties and responsibilities that need to be performed to meet the primary objective of the job. This will include the important result areas (what) along with the rationale (why).
Assist Deputy General Manager in formulating, implementing and reviewing plans for the development of CDC to achieve community goals.
Work closely with Deputy General Manager / Senior Manager in developing staff capabilities and building effective team.
Lead the Special Projects team in CDCs’ common based programmes, national programmes, including but not limited to the CDC Vouchers Scheme, and any other programmes assigned by General Manager/Deputy General Manager.
Coach, develop, supervise and guide Senior Managers and Managers to ensure targets set are met.
Develop, supervise and guide Senior Manager and Managers in writing proposal papers for submission to CDC management.
Manage staff administrative matters such as performance appraisals, claims and leave.
Coordinate and submit necessary reports, provide feedback, recommend changes and improvements to Council and PA Headquarters, thereby facilitating communication and coordination between the Council and PA.
Provide administrative/logistical support and guidance to the Council, GROs and project joint partners to facilitate effective implementation of their activities.
Formulate workplans and budget with District Councillors of Standing Committees in the CDC.
Other ad-hoc duties not covered under main responsibilities and duties.
Task Forces/Committees as required.
Performs other duties as assigned by General Manager/Deputy General Manager
[What we are looking for]
- Desired -Minimum five years of relevant work experience with at least three years of supervisory experience
- Good interpersonal, leadership, communication, and analytical skills
