Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our growing shipping and logistics company.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of proven experience in freight forwarding, shipping, and logistics, with a strong track record of driving business growth and achieving sales targets.
This role will focus on expanding market share, increasing revenue, and strengthening client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve company sales and revenue targets.
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities through proactive engagement and negotiations.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare and present tailored proposals and solutions that align with clients’ needs and objectives.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance visibility and build a strong professional network.
- Deliver regular business development reports, performance metrics, and forecasts to senior management.
- Support operational teams during peak periods, including oversight of loading and unloading activities as required.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in shipping, logistics, or freight forwarding; prior sales management experience is an advantage.
- Proven success in developing and executing business growth strategies with measurable results.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive data-informed decisions.
- Highly customer-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
