Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie / Demi Chef to join our kitchen team. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, managing your section, and supporting the Head Chef in maintaining consistency, standards, and smooth kitchen operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the cafe’s quality standards.
- Manage and oversee a specific kitchen section (e.g., grill, sauté, or pantry).
- Assist in menu preparation, ensuring creativity and quality in all dishes.
- Ensure food is prepared on time and meets portion and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in your section, following food safety regulations.
- Check and manage inventory for your station, reporting shortages to the Head Chef.
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff, ensuring they follow proper techniques.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service, especially during peak hours.
- Support the Head Chef in daily operations, including prep work and kitchen organization.
Requirements:
- 2–4 years of experience in a professional kitchen or similar role (for CDP).
1–3 years of experience for Demi Chef. - Strong culinary skills, including good knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of your section.
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills.
- High standards of cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work under pressure.
