Job Description
Design & Engineering
- Prepare and review piping design deliverables, including isometric drawings, spool drawings, general arrangements, and pipe support drawings.
- Interpret and apply contract specifications, P&IDs, piping material specifications, and equipment layouts to ensure design compliance.
- Monitor P&ID revisions and ensure the 3D model aligns with the latest approved drawings and engineering changes.
- Coordinate with the pipe stress analysis team to ensure routing and supports comply with the latest stress reports.
- Participate in 3D model reviews, clash checks, and design coordination with other disciplines.
Project Coordination
- Align design inputs and required dates with relevant stakeholders to meet the master project schedule.
- Interface with vendors, procurement, and other disciplines to resolve technical queries and design changes.
- Support preparation of technical queries (TQF) and engineering variation orders (EVO) for additional scopes.
- Review and comment on vendor drawings, technical proposals, and vendor-certified documents (VCD).
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure designs comply with classification society requirements, project specifications, and applicable codes/standards.
- Monitor and control drawing revisions to avoid discrepancies during construction.
- Support digital engineering requirements by ensuring piping design databases and model attributes are complete.
Construction & Commissioning Support
- Coordinate with the construction team to ensure issued drawings and deliverables meet fabrication and installation needs.
- Conduct site visits or vessel inspections to verify installation, resolve design issues, and support QA/QC activities. Provide technical support for inspection, coating, painting, welding, pressure testing, and commissioning activities.
Job Requirements
- 3–6 years of piping engineering experience in offshore oil & gas, FPSO/FPU, or marine projects.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting tools (e.g., PDMS, E3D, SP3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
- Good understanding of piping codes, standards, and classification rules (ASME, API, DNV, ABS, etc.).
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with exotic materials and high-cost piping components.
- Knowledge of fabrication, erection, and testing processes for piping systems. Familiarity with digital engineering workflows and data management tools.
