Job Overview
We are seeking a Junior IT & Technical Support Engineer to join our team. This role involves supporting the implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and cloud services while also providing technical support to clients. The engineer will be based at our office but may need to provide on-site support at client locations. Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Cloud Support
- Assist in the deployment, and management of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking equipment.
- Support cloud-based services and solutions, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Perform firmware upgrades and support the deployment of IoT devices.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot infrastructure and cloud-related issues.
- Maintain documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
Technical Support & Client Assistance
- Respond to client inquiries via email, phone, or in-person.
- Conduct meetings with clients to understand and resolve technical issues.
- Monitor system performance and perform bug fixes for web applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve simple hardware and software issues.
- Generate monthly reports based on system requirements and client needs.
- Provide on-site technical assistance at client locations when required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Electronics & Computer Engineering, Informatics, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud services, and technical support. (Internships and co-op experience considered.)
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and security best practices.
- Strong hands-on technical ability in IT infrastructure, cloud services, including system administration and network configurations, and troubleshooting
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues
- Ability to troubleshoot software issues is advantageous
