Responsibilities:
Assist the Head of Legal & Compliance in all legal, contractual, dispute, risk, compliance, governance, secretarial and all other matters in the Legal & Compliance Department of the Company, particularly relating but not limited to the following matters:-
- Commodities (oil, gas, petrochemical) trading contracts;
- General Terms and Conditions of Oil majors and counterparties;
• Shipping related matters; • Banking facilities agreement (including trade financing);
• All other contracts in the Company; • Prepare and draft internal articles/bulletin;
- Research on law, writing reports and any legal administrative or supporting tasks as and when required in the Legal & Compliance Department including building data depository and support the Head of Legal & Compliance to run an efficient department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Law Degree from local universities in Singapore (preferable) or the UK;
- Admitted to practise law in Singapore Courts (preferable) or any courts in the Commonwealth countries;
- Preferably with 3 years working experience in law firms. However, we will also consider newly admitted lawyers in the Singapore Courts;
- Ethical working attitude and will be diligent to carry out all the tasks assigned by the Head of Legal & Compliance, whether challenging or non-challenging
- Able to work under pressure and on short notice with dateline for deliverables
- Proficient in written and spoken Mandarin to coordinate and provide legal assistance to Mandarin speaking counterparts
