Our client is an established MNC freightfowarder, seeking for an experience and dynamic OKAM to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable capability in client engagement, based on experience gained in freight forwarding operations, and a solid understanding of logistics, supply chain, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Client management
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients on a regional level, ensuring consistent communication, collaboration, and alignment across multiple countries and operational teams.
- Manage the operational execution of key accounts, ensuring exceptional service delivery, compliance with SLAs, and client satisfaction.
- Oversee and coordinate logistics processes at origin and destination points across Asia and India, including cargo handling, customs clearance, uplift, and final delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing requirements and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with internal teams—including operations, customer service, and logistics—to develop and implement strategies aligned with client logistics and supply chain goals.
- Monitor and analyse KPIs and account metrics, identifying areas for improvement and initiating corrective actions.
- Verify internal and external billings at assigned origin(s) and destination(s) to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Conduct Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (MBRs/QBRs) with key clients to assess performance, review SLAs, and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on operational expectations.
- Handle spot bidding and quotation processes, working closely with pricing and procurement teams to ensure timely and competitive responses.
- Provide training to internal teams, including gateway operations, on client-specific SOPs, systems, and compliance requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to inform operational strategies and maintain compliance.
- Strong knowledge of air freight operations and local regulations across Asia and India, with the ability to navigate complex compliance requirements and ensure smooth cargo movement.
- Work with Sales on solutions design and client meetings.
Project Management, continuous improvement and innovation
- Manage development projects, (eg. customer projects; facility projects; route development projects) ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
- Act as a liaison between customers, sales, product, operations, and functional (HR, IT, Finance, Risk teams).
- Identify and mitigate risks or bottlenecks in setup and service execution.
- Prepare and present progress reports, performance metrics, and improvement plans.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented solutions, as needed, identifying areas for enhancement.
- Introduce best practice, automation tools, and data-driven insights to optimize logistics operations as needed.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and technology advancements in freight forwarding.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, supply chain solutions, or logistics implementation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and customer engagement abilities.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Proven track record in client onboarding, project management, and process optimization.
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding operations (air, sea, road, customs clearance, warehousing).
- Experience with TMS (Transportation Management Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and ERP platforms.
- Proficiency in process mapping, data analytics, and solution design methodologies.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, customs compliance, and global trade regulations.
