Senior Manager (IT Infrastructure Operations & Application Infrastructure Support)
The incumbent will be responsible in delivering a well designed IT Infrastructure that is robust, resilience and highly available for our business application to operate on. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the technologies, trends and technical components of the PSA Terminal IT Infrastructure environment and be able to provide advice to the PSA Group Terminal IT. Supported IT technology includes but not limited to: Linux, Microsoft Window Servers, Outdoor wireless solution (Cisco Fluidmesh, Altai Wifi, Ruckus Wifi, etc), Cisco Networking, VMWare Virtualization, Data centre operation and OT Technologies.
This role involves close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders across the PSA Group IT and external vendors. Collaboration is required prior to any deployment of equipment, software, applications, IT policies or processes and in post-deployment, development of improvements plan or procedures. This position demands strong communication and interpersonal skills, a problem-solving mindset, project management capabilities, attention to detail, with around the clock service-oriented mindset.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the BAU IT operations team; including handling incidents, service & change requests, vulnerability assessments and patching
- Involve in Incident tickets trending, analysis and identifying chronic issues and introduce Continual Service Improvement
- Project management which includes project scoping, schedule development, monitoring, tracking, control, risk identification, mitigation and ensuring quality of deliverables and costs
- Provide advice on Network design and improvement and occasionally perform Network troubleshooting
- Conduct review and assessment of existing IT infrastructure setup, this includes servers, virtualization, network, SAN, etc
- Align the Business application infrastructure requirement to current IT infrastructure setup and suggest areas of improvement or change
- Prepare RFP specifications to procure goods and services, and evaluate and select outsourcing partners based on capability and cost effectiveness
- Support the implementation of new applications and changes to existing applications to sites
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 8-9 years hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Data Centre Build and Run
- Network design/maintenance
- Virtualisation (Hyper-V/VMWare)
- Linux administration
- Minimum 6-7 years of managing an IT Operations team providing BAU Lights-on support
- Strong understanding of Networks with practical experience in LAN/WAN setup
- Experience in various infrastructure and application monitoring tools, including deployment and configuration
- Experience in scripting
- Experienced in Project Management
- Experienced in managing outsourcing contracts and vendor relationships
- Experience in middleware & databases will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of Cyber Security and best practices
- Effective verbal and written communication skills across all organisational levels
- Willing to travel at short notice
- General knowledge of container terminal processes is a plus
