On behalf of our client, an established and reputable dry bulk operator in Singapore, is currently seeking a Ship Chartering Account to join their growing team.
With a strong presence in the global maritime industry, they operate a diverse fleet of owned and chartered vessels, providing efficient and reliable dry bulk shipping solutions across key international trade routes.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As Ship Chartering Account main work content of the shipping voyage estimation / controlling position covers the following aspects:
1. VOYAGE COST ESTIMATION AND MANAGEMENT
- Voyage estimation and final settlement: Responsible for the cost estimation of each voyage/TCT, including fuel costs, port charges, cargo handling fees, agency fees, crew wages, etc., and accurate final settlement after the voyage.
- Single trip estimation/calculation: Conduct independent cost-benefit accounting for each ship owned by the company, establish and maintain single ship accounting ledgers.
- Cost/estimation control and analysis: Regularly analyze voyage costs, identify the reasons for abnormal cost fluctuations, put forward cost control suggestions, and supervise implementation.
2. ESTIMATION REVENUE AND ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE MANAGEMENT
- Freight accounting: Ensure freight receivable and other related income calculated accurately according to the transportation contract and Bill of Lading
- Accounts receivable tracking: Responsible for the collection of Accounts Receivable (AR), ensure that freight is received in time, and reduce the risk of bad debts.
- Revenue recognition and analysis: Ensure that voyage revenue is recorded in a timely and accuracy in accordance with accounting standards and conduct multi-dimensional analysis of revenue.
3. VOYAGE / TRIP COST AND EXPENSE MANAGEMENT
- Voyage funding arrangements: Arrange according to the voyage operation plan and prepare the funds required for the voyage.
- Expense review and payment: Review various expense documents related to voyage operations, handle payment procedures, and ensure the authenticity and compliance of expenses.
- Fuel, material and other inventory management: Cooperate with relevant departments to do a good job in inventory and accounting of fuel and materials stored on board.
4. ESTIMATION / VOYAGE REPORT AND ANALYSIS
- Prepare voyage benefit analysis report: Prepare regularly voyage benefit analysis report to stakeholder
- Participate in budget preparation: Assist in preparing the company's annual, quarterly and monthly financial budgets, especially those related to ship operations.
- Provide management reports: Provide financial statements and data analysis related to shipping accounting according to management needs.
5. OTHER RELATED WORK FOR C/P TERMS AND LAYTIME CALCULATION
- Contract / Charty Party Management: Assist in reviewing shipping/estimation terms in shipping-related contracts and laytime calculations
- Internal and external communication and coordination: Maintain good communication with the company's internal business departments, ship management departments and external ports, agents, suppliers, etc. to ensure the smooth progress of accounting work.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Shipping Management or related field is required
- Familiarity with Financial, Tax Laws and Regulations, along with a solid understanding of financial system. Knowledge of international Shipping Management and Chartering (Shipping Leases) will be an added advantage
2. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in financial, accounting or familiar with international shipping practices, shipping operations, logistics will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in financial software (UFIDA, Kingdee), and office software such as Microsoft Excel will be an added advantage
