Position Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and adaptable Bilingual Translator & Interpreter (English / Mandarin) to support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, bilingual business environment. This role involves real-time translation and transcription during meetings, minute taking, translating and reviewing legal, corporate, and operational documents.
Key responsibilities
- Provide real-time interpretation between English and Mandarin during internal and external meetings.
- Accurately transcribe meeting discussions and take clear, structured minutes in both English and Mandarin.
- Translate business documents including contracts, agreements, legal documentation, and internal communications.
- Ensure that all translations are contextually accurate and culturally appropriate.
- Review and proofread translated materials for grammar, terminology, tone, and accuracy.
- Work closely with legal and commercial teams to ensure clarity in all bilingual communications.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Support ad hoc translation and interpretation tasks as required.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a corporate or legal environment.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Mandarin.
- Prior experience in contract/legal document translation is a strong advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interpret with cultural sensitivity and clarity.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to travel for business when required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
