We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Air Cargo Officer to join our operations team. This role is critical in supporting air cargo export build-up and handling , ensuring compliance with aviation safety standards and maintaining the efficiency and quality of cargo preparation for outbound flights. You will be working in an airside environment, performing cargo handling tasks, operating order pickers, and supporting export procedures under strict safety protocols.
Safety & Work at Height:
- Comply strictly with all aviation safety regulations and company policies during cargo handling and build-up activities.
- Ensure proper use of PPE , including safety boots, gloves, uniform, and security passes at all times.
- Operate Order Picker equipment with harness for handling cargo stored at height or as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
- Carry out general maintenance and housekeeping tasks within the designated cargo zone.
Export Cargo Build-Up:
- Assist in the loading and unloading of cargo for export.
- Perform cargo preparation , including:
Applying plastic sheets, edge boards, honeycomb panels, and industrial tape.
Securing cargo with airline nets and straps to meet airline safety standards . - Conduct visual inspections on airline nets, pallets, and cargo to check for damage, missing components, or improper packing.
- Paste correct MAWB cargo labels accurately according to instructions from Loaders.
- Coordinate with tractor drivers and warehouse teams to ensure a smooth and timely flow of export cargo.
- Monitor and manage inventory of packing materials such as tapes, nets, straps, and plastic sheets.
- Collect and return unused materials to the designated storage area after completion of each build-up.
- Ensure timely execution of export schedules in alignment with flight timings and cargo deadlines.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in air cargo handling or a related environment, preferably within the aerospace or aviation industry.
- Comfortable with working at height and operating lifting equipment (training will be provided if required).
- Strong knowledge of export cargo preparation standards and aviation safety protocols .
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks in outdoor or airside environments .
- Good communication skills and team player with a responsible work ethic.
- Willing to work on rotating shifts , including weekends and public holidays.
