About the Role
We are seeking a warm, organised, and customer-oriented Assistant Centre Manager to join our team at S.A.M Jurong West. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment that supports children’s learning and development.
As the Assistant Centre Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring service excellence, and supporting student enrolment and parent engagement. You’ll work closely with the Centre Director to ensure the centre runs smoothly and maintains a positive, professional, and welcoming atmosphere for families and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Enrolment
- Serve as the first point of contact for parents and students, being friendly, knowledgeable, and service-oriented
- Understand parent needs and clearly explain our programme offerings and teaching methodology
- Coordinate and schedule student assessments, trial classes, and follow-ups with prospective families Support enrolment processes and monitor outstanding payments with care and professionalism
Center Operations
- Oversee daily front desk and administrative tasks to ensure smooth centre operations
- Maintain accurate student records, including enrolments, assessments, withdrawals, and attendance
- Manage centre inventory (e.g. worksheets, stationery), petty cash, and overall upkeep
- Ensure the centre meets cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist in teaching lessons when needed, such as covering classes or supporting student sessions
- Support student learning by following the M.O.E teaching approach and providing guidance and encouragement in class
- Coordinate teacher scheduling and assist with class arrangement and planning
Team Support and Reporting
- Work closely with the Centre Manager to compile reports on student progress and centre operations
- Provide guidance to part-time staff or junior team members where necessary Identify and escalate any operational or customer-related issues in a timely and constructive manner
What We're Looking For
- 1–2 years’ experience in customer service or parent-facing roles, preferably in education or enrichment
- Experience in teaching or working directly with children is highly valued
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Warm, proactive, and comfortable engaging with families and students
- Basic proficiency with digital tools like Microsoft Office and student management systems Able to multitask and stay organised in a busy centre environment
Working Hours
- Wednesday to Friday: 1.30pm – 9.30pm
- Saturday & Sunday: 9am – 6.30pm
- (Monday & Tuesday off)
