Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning, developing, and enforcing EHS policies and procedures for shipbuilding and ship repair activities.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections on vessels, docks, and workshop areas.
- Monitor compliance with local regulations (e.g., MOM, NEA, SCDF) and marine industry safety standards .
- Support incident investigation and root cause analysis, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Conduct EHS induction, toolbox talks, and training sessions for workers and contractors.
- Liaise with government agencies and third-party auditors during inspections or audits.
- Maintain documentation for safety reports, permits, licenses, and regulatory submissions.
- Monitor hazardous activities such as hot works, confined space entries, and lifting operations.
- Promote a positive EHS culture through employee engagement and behavior-based safety programs.
- Support sustainability and environmental protection initiatives in the shipyard.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Environmental, Health & Safety, Engineering, Marine, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of EHS experience , preferably in the marine, shipyard, or heavy industrial environment.
- Good knowledge of WSH Act, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 , and relevant shipyard codes of practice.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work on-site and respond to safety incidents or emergencies when required.
