Founded in 2018, Lendela is a fast-growing fintech on a mission to simplify financing and enable greater financial access. Our platform matches borrowers with personalised loan options through a simple application, empowering borrowers with choice and transparency while offering an alternative to the cumbersome and opaque traditional lending landscape.
Since our inception, we have facilitated over 400,000 loan applications alongside more than 100 lending partners. In 2023, we successfully raised US$5 million in an oversubscribed Series A to scale our unique model across Asia Pacific. Our backers include Singlife co-founder Walter de Oude’s Chocolate Ventures as well as prominent Singapore-based VC firm Cocoon Capital. Job Overview
We’re seeking a sharp, driven Brand & Communications Manager to take Lendela’s brand and communications strategy to the next level across Hong Kong and Singapore. This regional role is pivotal to amplifying the narrative around the company, our brand awareness, and aligning communications with business growth goals.
As we scale our brand-building efforts, you’ll play a key role in both shaping strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute. From developing high-impact campaigns to ensuring consistency across touchpoints, no two days will look the same.
The right candidate brings deep brand and comms expertise, a strong strategic mindset, and a hands-on approach. You understand how to connect brand initiatives to performance metrics—and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. The role will report to the Deputy CEO and be part of the Marketing Team.
Responsibilities
- Build on Lendela’s communication strategy and activities (internally and externally)
- Translate business objectives into cohesive brand and communication strategies
- Continuously evolve Lendela’s brand positioning to ensure market relevance in HK and SG
- Own the company’s PR strategy and manage all PR-related activities on a regional level
- Develop and execute narratives that elevate brand perception and trust
- Act as the brand guardian in public-facing statements and media engagements
- Partake in marketing campaign ideation, planning and strategy, as well as execution
- Ensure brand consistency and message alignment across all campaign assets
- Collaborate cross-functionally to embed brand thinking into all stages of the marketing funnel
- Ensure consistency in both visual execution and communication across all customer-facing touchpoints, as well as internal communications
- Maintain and evolve brand guidelines to ensure alignment across teams and markets
- Conduct regular audits to uphold tone, visual identity, and messaging integrity
- Drive Lendela’s CSR work and community engagement, including stakeholder engagement and strategic partnerships
- Build brand equity through purpose-driven initiatives that align with company values
- Leverage CSR as a tool to reinforce brand narrative and emotional resonance with target audiences
Qualifications & Skills
- Deep understanding of the media landscape (preferably 4–6 years’ of experience) and a knack for building strong relationships with journalists, influencers and customers; your ability to identify newsworthy angles and turn large datasets into compelling media pitches is second nature to you
- Comfortable managing both proactive and reactive media strategies across markets
- Adept at shaping brand stories that resonate through earned and owned media
- Even though you are comfortable working on a regional basis, you possess an understanding of the local nuances and differences between Singapore and Hong Kong, and can adjust strategy and activities to address these differences accounting for culture, customer behavior, marketing success drivers etc.
- Strong regional market acumen with the ability to adapt messaging while preserving brand coherence
- Deep sensitivity to local brand perception and communications tone across touchpoints
- Highly creative and known for your ability to think outside the box
- Ability to take complex ideas and turn them into engaging and shareable stories that captivate both media and audiences
- Strong execution power combined with strategic thinking, being comfortable working towards clear objectives and measure outcomes, and to adjust strategies for optimal results
- Experience in developing a brand framework—including voice, tone, visual identity, and narrative—ensuring it evolves in step with business priorities and consumer expectations
- Fluent in English (Cantonese is a huge plus) and can develop clear, effective communication to convey ideas with simplicity
