We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to expand our presence across the ASEAN region, focusing on ASEAN region non-Japanese multinational clients in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, food & beverage manufacturing industries and Data Centres. This role will be based in Singapore and play a key part in our regional business growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies targeting non-Japanese multinational manufacturing companies in Singapore and across ASEAN.
- Identify and build strong relationships with key decision-makers in target sectors (semiconductor, pharmaceutical, F&B, and Data Centers).
- Manage end-to-end business development process, including lead generation, proposal development, contract negotiation, and post-sales support.
- Lead and support local sales teams across ASEAN countries in preparing quotations, negotiating contracts, and managing projects.
- Monitor market trends and competitors to identify business opportunities.
- Report regularly to the headquarters in Japan and ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
- Business Travel: Short-term trips (approximately one week) monthly to Southeast Asia, South Asia and other regions
Required Qualifications:
1. Minimum 5 years of B2B business development experience , preferably in engineering, construction, or equipment industries.
2. Proven experience in sales within the ASEAN region or working with non – Japanese multinational manufacturing clients.
3. Basic knowledge of HVAC systems , cleanroom technology, or process facilities.
4. Fluent in English (business level); Japanese language skills are a plus.
5. Strong client-orientation, self-motivation, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Previous work experience in Singapore and familiarity with local business practices.
2. Existing network in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or food & beverage industries.
3. Technical sales background or engineering education.
4. Additional language skills (e.g., Mandarin, Vietnamese, Thai) are a strong asset.
