The Central Banks and Public Policy team (CB&PP) is responsible for the World Gold Council’s outreach to official sector organisations, including central banks, regulatory bodies, and sovereign wealth funds. The Central Banks and Public Policy Lead will work with team members in Singapore and London, and the global organisation on a broader basis, with a focus on:
- Outreach to official sector investors, ensuring that our trust-based relationships are deepened, documented, and managed properly.
- Cultivating and strengthening the CB&PP team’s research and thought leadership programme.
- Supporting the organisation of events, including training workshops and conferences.
- Project management support.
Key responsibilities:
- Cultivating and deepening relationships with official sector institutions
- Attending and leading external meetings with official sector institutions and institutional investors
- Managing relationships with third parties, public sector forums, advisors and vendors
- Supporting the organisation of events, including training workshops and conferences
- Monitoring and helping to frame a response to global policy developments that affect the gold market, including, but not limited to, developments in the international monetary system and global financial regulation
- Ensuring that the team’s CRM is up to date
- Providing wider project management and research support to the CB&PP team
Experience and skills:
- At least 5 - 10 years post university work experience, including 2-3 years in a position focused on engagement with the official sector (essential)
- Knowledge of and interest in financial markets (essential)
- Good written and spoken English skills (essential)
- Knowledge of the central banking, monetary policy and gold as a reserve asset (desirable)
- Competent with Bloomberg (desirable)
- Competent with statistics and financial modelling (desirable)
- Understanding of financial regulation (desirable)
- Understanding of East Asian politics and policymaking (desirable)
