About the role
Leadership: The Manager for this role is Bruce Anderson. Bruce is based in Brisbane, Australia and is one of our Practice Leads for the Data and AI team. Bruce will be committed to providing ongoing development opportunities to help you reach your full potential. As a member of our Data & AI team, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative environment that fosters growth, innovation, knowledge sharing and creativity.
As a Data Architect you will be responsible for assessing and designing complex solutions to meet our client’s technology and business needs. You are a subject matter expert for strategic client opportunities who will provide leadership and technical support to your teammates and will act as a Team Lead on large engagements.
Along the way, you will get to:
- Drive challenging and complex data projects, work with customers to understand functional and business requirements and design appropriate solutions
- Assist with developing new solution offerings, including training plans and sales enablement
- Provide Project quality assurance and technical oversight
- Research and evaluate client systems and architecture; draw conclusions; and develop recommendations in accordance with engagement objectives
- Discuss project scope and budget with the customer and direct project scope to be able to be implemented on time and budget without sacrificing quality
- Acts as a team lead on large engagements taking ownership of the project outcome and quality
- Write proposal components or letters of understanding, as needed, and respond to RFPs and other marketing situations
- Work with internal personnel to define service opportunities, and develop standards of delivery, templates, and standard work products to meet internal and external delivery expectations
- Lead identification of business and technical requirements
- Implement technologies and solutions based on designs
- Plan own and team’s work to meet given objectives and processes
- Demonstrate analytical and systematic approach to problem solving and mentor team members

We are looking for a hands-on Data & AI Architect with the following capabilities:
- 8+ years of experience architecting, designing and implementing advanced technical solutions
- Previous consulting/professional services experience including pre-sales
- Strong ability to cultivate relationships with partners (i.e. Microsoft) in order to develop and share understanding of technology roadmaps both within Insight and with Insight’s client community
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate both technical and abstract concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills combined with sound judgement
- Proven ability to develop technical requirements based on business imperatives
- Ability to write quality high level and detailed architectural diagrams, strategic roadmaps and technical documentation that communicate customer vision
- Understanding of project budgets
- Ability to manage and mentor other team members
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively required.
- Ability to interface effectively with client executives in a professional and business-like manner
- Work with our customers to understand functional and business requirements and make appropriate technology recommendations.
- Deliver strategic consultancy services including enterprise maturity assessments, roadmaps and technology platform evaluations
- Develop and maintain effective customer and user relationships, including representing Insight at conferences, User Groups and other marketing/PR activities as appropriate
Technical skills:
- Demonstrated hands on experience in designing, building and implementing Microsoft solutions based around Azure IaaS and PaaS
- Solid experience with the Azure Data platform including Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Fabric
- Experience designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft Fabric & Power BI
- Strong Python skills
- Proven experience with Azure OpenAI integration and deployment.
- Familiarity with GPT models, and prompt engineering on Azure.
- Experience building multi-agent systems
- Experience with dbt highly desired
