Job Responsibilities
- Setup and lead the central procurement office (CPO) team for the APAC region, with global alignment with other regions.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals to optimize cost and deliver quality results.
- Setup and oversee end-to-end procurement processes and related policies from requisition, sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, contract management, purchasing, to vendor management, review and evaluation.
- Lead and manage the procurement team, setting objectives and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships and setup performance targets to ensure continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and coordinate procurement activities.
- Monitor market trends, vendor innovations, and emerging risks to recommend strategic adjustments as necessary.
- Ensure that all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with APAC and Head Office policies, procedures, ESG and ethical standards.
- Prepare reports and analysis on procurement performance and metrics to senior management.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field. A Master’s Degree or MBA will be viewed favorably.
- Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management), or equivalent is advantageous.
- 7 to 12 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in banking, finance or IT, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor management skills.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities to translate business needs into actionable deliverables within the procurement space.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with in-depth knowledge of setting up and organizing the APAC procurement team.
- Experience in the implementation of procurement processes, with alignment to legal and compliance requirements, as well as ESG and ethical standards.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills to build consensus and influence change.
