Position Summary
The Facility Technician - Electrical is responsible for delivering technical support for all facility-related operations, with a focus on electrical systems. Key duties include the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, as well as support for HVAC, plumbing, and other building infrastructure. The role also involves monitoring facility conditions, conducting preventive maintenance, and responding to emergency situations. The Technician is expected to have a working knowledge of factory operations and regulatory requirements and must demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular and ad-hoc inspections of electrical systems and building infrastructure to ensure optimal condition and safety.
- Monitor and coordinate with external contractors and subcontractors, ensuring work is completed on schedule and to high-quality standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for facilities-related matters and support internal staff as required.
- Respond promptly to faults, complaints, and emergencies related to electrical and M&E systems.
- Ensure the facility complies with all applicable regulatory and safety requirements.
- Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and keep accurate maintenance records.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly inspection reports and other statutory documentation as required.
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the supervisor to support smooth and safe facility operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge in electrical systems, with working knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and building systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards and factory regulations is an added advantage.
