Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned manager and strategist to spearhead the strategic redevelopment of the National Sailing Centre. This senior leadership role is responsible for master planning, placemaking, and commercial activation of the Centre's property. The ideal candidate will leverage deep experience in event strategy, hospitality, and sports infrastructure development to deliver transformative projects. A proven ability to navigate complex negotiations with senior government stakeholders is essential.
Job Description
A. Strategic Development & Placemaking
The General Manager (Development) will be responsible for the strategic transformation of the current site, with a focus on:
- Master Planning & Regeneration: Develop and execute a strategic masterplan to transform the NSC into a vibrant, commercially successful hub.
- Placemaking & Activation: Enhance the customer and public experience by leveraging expertise in high-visibility events and hospitality. Improve the Centre's public interface, especially along the waterfront, to boost engagement.
- Commercial Growth: Drive new revenue generation through strategic partnerships, high-impact event activation, sponsorship management, and the development of new hospitality, rental, and F&B concepts.
Candidate Experience
B. The candidate is expected to have the following experience:
- Strategic Development of Sports Events: Proven experience in the strategic development, marketing and management of high-visibility events that provide sponsorship value.
- Hospitality and Tourism Management : Proven experience in developing hospitality and tourism projects in the government and private sectors.
- Government & Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in liaising and negotiating with Singapore government agencies (e.g., SportSG, URA, MPA, STB), international sport organisations (e.g., IOC) and private sector sponsors.
