Salling Search is assisting an international trading firm to look for a Head Of Operations based in their Singapore office.
This role involves overseeing all post-deal activities, including shipping, logistics, chartering, trade execution, and operational risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end physical trade execution and global shipping operations (dry bulk focus)
- Oversee charter party execution, laytime, demurrage, and voyage performance
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of shipping and trade documentation (e.g. LC, B/L)
- Coordinate with finance, legal, and trading teams on risk, exposure, and compliance
- Drive process and systems improvement across operations
- Engage with counterparties, service providers, and technical advisors
Requirements
- 10+ years’ senior operations experience in physical commodity trading (preferably dry bulk)
- Strong knowledge of shipping, chartering, laytime, documentation, and trade finance
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional, regional teams
- Track record in operational risk control and process improvement
