We are currently seeking a committed and compassionate Intervention Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with students to support the development of their language, communication, and social interaction skills. Collaborating alongside certified Speech-Language Therapists and classroom teachers, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality intervention within our vibrant school community.
Job Responsibilities
- Support Speech Language Therapist during individual and group sessions by guiding children through speech and language activities
- Implement group therapy sessions designed by SLT, supporting children through targeted activities and strategies.
- Support goals related to speech, language, communication, and social skills.
- Prepare and organise materials needed for therapy sessions.
- Demonstrate and encourage the use of speech and communication strategies.
- Supervise and motivate children to stay engaged during activities.
- Provide in-class support to teachers by adapting and delivering lessons that reinforce therapeutic goals.
- Build rapport with clients and their families to foster a supportive and trusting environment.
- Escort and assist children safely during transitions to and from therapy sessions.
- Record session observations and assist in collecting data on student progress under therapist guidance.
- Maintain and organize client files, therapy materials and tools.
- Collaborate with other OTs, teachers and other professionals to maintain consistency in therapeutic approaches.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and therapy techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, linguistics, special education or related field.
- This is a hands-on, practical role ideal for individuals seeking meaningful, real-world experience—particularly those looking to move away from desk-bound, research-focused, or administrative work.
- Open to entry-level candidates who are passionate about working directly with children with special needs in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
- Candidates must be able to commit to a minimum of 24 months , allowing time to build strong rapport with students, deepen expertise, and contribute to meaningful progress.
- On-the-job training (OJT) is provided.
