Job Overview
Rise Bakehouse is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Baker to oversee daily production and help drive the excellence of our baking operations. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll be responsible for managing the baking team, ensuring consistency and quality, and helping to develop new products that align with the Rise Bakehouse vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and participate in the daily production of artisanal cakes and other baked goods.
- Lead and mentor junior bakers and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintain high standards for product quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Manage baking schedules to meet daily production targets.
- Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Collaborate with the Head Baker/Management on menu development, seasonal specials, and product innovation.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies.
- Help with staff scheduling, training, and workflow organization.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure equipment is maintained properly.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of professional baking experience, including artisan bread and/or pastry production.
- Strong understanding of baking, piping and kitchen management.
- Experience leading or supervising a team in a kitchen or bakery setting.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume production environment.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physically able to lift heavy ingredients and stand for long periods.
